Job Duties: read/review E. H. Brogan draft poems on an as-need basis in response to receipt of poem drafts. SLA: 24-48 hours (Brogan will probably confirm with 1-4 hours receipt of said poem drafts and estimated SLA). Length, Depth, and Scope: overall impressions or general take-aways desired for 1st level response. Brogan may then probe regarding specific areas or topics or etc within the poem to see if the machine is working as planned. Volume: Unpredictable. Never more than 3 new drafts pending at a time. May go days or weeks without receiving any. Occasionally, a collection or set may be set forth. Expectations on longer poem groups will be set on a case-by-case basis.
Pay: Getting grilled by a nutty neurotic erstwhile alphabet soup mixer
Requirements/Qualifications:
- a genuine interest in or motivation to read poetry in general, and a positive appreciation for the kind of poetry Brogan writes
- substantial familiarity or comfort with poetry; it is not sufficient to simply read and say, "that's good." thought is required.
- if a writer oneself, must have a clear established independent voice and style.
- value honesty over emotions yet can phrase negatives with tact, or be crushingly blunt, as needed. (Scrap the whole poem is sometimes necessary.)
- cannot be a creep
- must swear not to fuck up any copyrights
- must be patient and detail oriented
